EXILE is a singing and dancing group consisting of EXILE HIRO, Toshio Matsumoto, EXILE ÜSA, EXILE MAKIDAI, EXILE ATSUSHI, EXILE AKIRA, EXILE TAKAHIRO, Kenchi Tachibana, EXILE TETSUYA, EXILE NESMITH, EXILE SHOKICHI, EXILE NAOTO, Naoki Kobayashi, Takanori Iwata, Alan Shirahama, Sekai and Taiki Sato.

On September 27, 2001, the group debuted with the single "Your eyes only ~Aimai na Boku no Katachi~".

On March 29, 2006, vocalist SHUN left EXILE to focus on his solo career. In June of the same year, AKIRA joined EXILE as one of its performers.

In the EXILE Vocal Battle Audition 2006 ~ASIAN DREAM~ held on September 22, 2006, TAKAHIRO was chosen as new EXILE's vocalist after the screening of about 10 thousand people and that marked the start of EXILE Chapter 2.

They started the year 2008 called EXILE PERFECT YEAR and successfully held their first dome tour "EXILE LIVE TOUR 'EXILE PERFECT LIVE 2008'".

On December 30 of the same year, their single "Ti Amo" won the 50th Japan Record Award.

On March 1, 2009, Kenchi Tachibana, Keiji Kuroki, TETSUYA, NESMITH, SHOKICHI, NAOTO and Naoki Kobayashi from J Soul Brothers II joined the EXILE team, which heralded the start of EXILE Chapter 3.

On November 12 of the same year, they sang a celebration song "Taiyou no Kuni" at The National Celebration for the 20th Anniversary of His Majesty The Emperor's Accession to the Throne.

On December 30 of the same year, the first single of Chapter 3 "Someday" won the 51st Japan Record Award, earning them their second consecutive win of the said award.

In 2010, their first stadium tour "EXILE LIVE TOUR 2010 'FANTASY'" was held.

On December 30 of the same year, "I Wish For You" won the 52nd Japan Record Award and brought them their third consecutive win.

On December 30, 2013, "EXILE PRIDE ~Konna Sekai wo Aisuru Tame~" won the 55th Japan Record Award, which made them the first group ever to win this award 4 times.

On the following day, December 31, the leader HIRO announced his retirement from the EXILE performer team.

The opening of 2014 saw the start of a large-scale year-long project - the EXILE TRIBE PERFECT YEAR.

On April 27 of the same year, 5 new performers (Takanori Iwata, Alan Shirahama, Mandy Sekiguchi, Sekai and Taiki Sato) were chosen as the new members of EXILE through the new EXILE performer audition "EXILE PERFORMER BATTLE AUDITION", which marked the beginning of EXILE Chapter 4.

In the same year on July 23, their first single of Chapter 4, "NEW HORIZON", was released.

On March 25, 2015, Chapter 4's first album "19 -Road to AMAZING WORLD-" came out.

In the same year on December 31, the original members Toshio Matsumoto, ÜSA and MAKIDAI retired from the EXILE performer team.

On August 17, 2016, the group released "Joy-ride" which became "the theme song for Fuji TV's Rio Olympics Live Broadcast".

On September 27 of the same year, they released their greatest hits album "EXTREME BEST" to mark the EXILE's 15th anniversary.

From February 2, 2018 to July 6, 2018 on the first Friday of every month a new song was released as a digital single in the special project entitled "EXILE FRIDAY".

In the same year on July 25, EXILE released their first original album in 3 years "STAR OF WISH".

From September 15, 2018 to February 11, 2019, they held their first dome tour in 3 years "EXILE LIVE TOUR 2018-2019 'STAR OF WISH'".

On January 3, 2019, they released their digital single "Love of History".

On January 1, 2020, they released "Ai no Tame ni ~for love, for a child~" which raised the curtain of LDH PERFECT YEAR 2020.

From January 19 of the same year, the live tour "EXILE PERFECT LIVE 2001▶2020" was held.

On November 2, 2020, EXILE ATSUSHI retired from EXILE so as to concentrate on his solo activities.

On December 16, 2020, "SUNSHINE" was released as the last single of the 15-member group.

On December 29, 2020, the new EXILE held their first paid online live show "LIVE×ONLINE BEYOND THE BORDER".

On December 31, 2020, the group held another paid online live show LIVE×ONLINE COUNTDOWN 2020→2021 "RISING SUN TO THE WORLD".

On January 1, 2021, the group released a single called "RISING SUN TO THE WORLD" under the name of EXILE TRIBE.

From March 2021, EXILE TRIBE held the dome tour EXILE TRIBE LIVE TOUR 2021 "RISING SUN TO THE WORLD".

On April 27, 2021, their 1st single in 2021 "PARADOX" was released.

On May 27, 2021, "One Nation" was digitally released.

On July 1, 2021, "HAVANA LOVE" was digitally released.

On September 27, 2021, the group celebrated its 20th debut anniversary.

On December 31, 2021, the group held the paid online live show "LIVE×ONLINE COUNTDOWN LIVE 2021▶2022".

On January 1, 2022, the group released their 12th original album "PHOENIX" about three and a half years after the last one.

From February to May 2022, the group held the arena tour EXILE 20th ANNIVERSARY EXILE LIVE TOUR 2021 "RED PHOENIX" to celebrate their 20th debut anniversary.

On May 27, 2022, "BE THE ONE" was digitally released.

On July 1, 2022, "POWER OF WISH" was digitally released.

In July 2022, the dome tour EXILE LIVE TOUR 2022 "POWER OF WISH" was kicked off.

On October 31, 2022, the performer Keiji Kuroki left the group and retired from the entertainment industry.

On December 7, 2022, ATSUSHI came back and the 15-member EXILE released the original album "POWER OF WISH".

In December 2022, the group held the dome tour EXILE LIVE TOUR 2022 "POWER OF WISH" ~Christmas Special~. Live tours in 2022 attracted over 1 million viewers in total.

On December 21, 2022, with ATSUSHI withdrawing his decision of limited revival, EXILE announced their complete revival.
