In November 2012, they made their debut with "BRAVE IT OUT".
Since their debut, all their singles have entered the top 10 on the ORICON charts, with three consecutive albums taking 1st place.
They had their world tours in 2015 and 2017, their hall tour and another world tour in 2015, and their arena tours in 2016 and 2017. Their second world tour was in 2017, followed by their first dome tour in 2018.
In 2019, the group held their "GENERATIONS LIVE TOUR 2019 'SHONEN CHRONICLE'," which was their first tour of Japan's 5 Big Concert Domes, and attracted an audience of over 460 thousand people. At the end of the same year, they appeared for the first time on "NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen", and participated for three consecutive years. On November 21, 2022, the group celebrated their 10th debut anniversary, and in 2023, as the group's "10th ANNIVERSARY YEAR", they announced the activity guideline (slogan), "Atsumare! Sawagashige! Tsunagare!" In order to once again deliver the entertainment of GENERATIONS to all of Japan, the members carried out their activities under the theme of "Meeting more people" and "Connecting with more people".
Starting in March of 2023, the group held the national arena tour "GENERATIONS LIVE TOUR 2023 'THE BEST'", the national hall tour "GENERATIONS LIVE TOUR 2023 'THE STORY'", and "GENERATIONS ORCHESTRA LIVE 2023 'THE LOVE'", where many carefully selected songs in orchestral arrangements were performed. They also appeared in festivals in various places in Japan.
In August of the same year, GENERATIONS members starred as themselves in the newly released movie "SANA", a film directed by Takashi Shimizu, the master of Japanese horror movies, which attracted an audience of 380 thousand people within about 4 weeks and took over 480 million yen at the box office, followed by an international release in 14 countries and regions around the world.

In April 2024, the members were appointed as "support ambassadors of gymnastics in Japan". "Endless Journey" digitally released in May has been selected as the "support song of gymnastics in Japan" for Japan national gymnastics team who participated in Paris 2024 kicking off in July and all gymnasts across Japan.
This year, GENERATIONS have changed greatly. Under a new system of 6 members, they will hold the arena tour "GENERATIONS LIVE TOUR 2024 'GENERATIONS 2.0'" with 12 shows in 7 cities around Japan from September.

They are appearing on the radio program "GENERATIONS no GENETALK" (28 JFN radio stations) that began in 2013 as their regular program.
In addition, they have served as image ambassadors for "Car Premium" since January 2023. The new commercial in 2024 where they appear with Shingo Katori has also started airing.
