PROFILE

On September 27, 2001, he made his debut with the single "Your eyes only ~Aimai na Boku no Katachi~".
He started his acting career in TBS's drama "Hotman 2" in 2004. In 2007, he appeared in GEKIDAN EXILES stage play "Taiyou ni Yakarete". He also played lead roles in "Shibuya Maruyama Story", "Kimi ni Todoku Koe" and other movies. In 2008, he appeared in the morning broadcasts of NHK's serial TV novel "Hitomi" and dubbed for the Japanese release of the movie "Hancock" starring Will Smith. He is active as an actor.
Moreover, in 2008 under the name DJ MAKIDAI, he released mix CD "DJ MAKIDAI from EXILE Treasure MIX" which ranked 3rd on the ORICON Album Chart, the highest new entry rank for a mix CD in history. After that, he released 3 more mix CDs.
He also showed a lot of talent while serving as a main host of NTV's show "ZIP!" on Tuesdays.
In 2014, he held the live show "DJ MAKIDAI presents 'CLUB EXILE'" which was named after him.
In the same year, EXILE HIRO, VERBAL, DJ DARUMA and MAKIDAI formed a production unit called PKCZ®. They have engaged in production activities in various fields including music, events, apparel and so on.
On December 31, 2015, he retired from being a performer of EXILE and concentrated on his activities as a member of PKCZ®.
In addition to the Halloween events at YOKOHAMA ARENA and Makuhari Messe, he also carried out events as a member of PKCZ® at Yoyogi National Stadium 1st Gymnasium and Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse.
In the same year, PKCZ® took charge of the remix for the Japanese version of "Unbreakable" in American singer Janet Jackson's new album which was rolled out after 7 years since the last one.
In 2017, he participated in the overseas festivals "Ultra Singapore" and "Tomorrowland" and also released PKCZ®'s 1st album "360° ChamberZ".
At present, he still participates in events held in Japan and abroad.

In 2025, he was appointed as a special supporter for the 40th Anniversary of Sakae Ward in Sakae Ward of his hometown, Yokohama City.
In 2026, he was certified as a "disaster prevention specialist" by the specified nonprofit organization Japan Bousaisi Organization.
As a father raising two children, he focuses on initiatives that enrich the "soil for nurturing the next generation" through engagement with the local community, entertainment, and social contributions.
