MIYAVI is gaining recognition around the world for his "finger-slapping style", unconventional style of playing the electric guitar not with a pick, but with his fingers. He has 10 successful world tours under his belt, totaling more than 380 shows in about 30 countries.

MIYAVI has gained wide acclaim from other artists and creators from all over the world. He arranged the Japanese version of the theme song for the movie "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation", produced music for the HONDA commercial and was featured in many works of various artists such as creating songs for SMAP.

In 2019, he played the national anthem at the first pitch ceremony of Major League Baseball at Dodger Stadium. His performance fascinated the audience and became a hot topic in both Japan and the USA making his presence as a guitarist.
In 2021, he held a dedication concert to pray for the world peace at Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto, one of the UNESCO world heritage sites. It was live streamed around the world for free and received a huge amount of feedback across the world.
His single "Strike It Out" released in March 2022 has been selected as the opening theme song of the anime "TRIBE NINE". His another single "Futurism" out in June has been selected as the new commercial song for Dell's "Expand Your Youniverse".

MIYAVI made his acting debut in Hollywood with the movie "Unbroken" (screened in Japan in 2016) directed by Angelina Jolie. After that, he appeared in Japanese movies "BLEACH" and "Gangoose" as well as foreign movies "Kong: Skull Island" and "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil".

As a model, he appeared for the first time on Paris Collection in 2018 via "Yohji Yamamoto" collection. In 2020, he became the first Japanese celebrity featured in the commercial of GUCCI's global collection "Gucci Off the Grid collection".

In 2017, MIYAVI became Japan's first official Goodwill Ambassador of UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees).
