--Please tell us how you felt when you found out you’d be appearing in "Midsummer, Grasping Love".
I thought that this drama looked really interesting.
And I was very delighted to be able to participate in this popular work that has been made into a series.

--Please talk about your impression on Marika Matsumoto, who plays the protagonist.
I had the chance to perform alongside her 15 years ago in my debut stage play GEKIDAN EXILE JUNCTION#1 "-Night Ballet-".
This is our first time working together since then, so I'm really happy.
Marika is as straightforward and excellent as ever.
The last time we worked together, I was only a sophomore in high school, so she still treats me like a child...(lol).
In a word, I believe that the good atmosphere on set this time is thanks to Marika's personality.

--How do you want to portray Genya Hinokuma? Please tell us about your impression of this role as well.
Genya really likes Umino, played by Marika.
He is a very good man, who is straightforward and has pure and unrequited love.
However... I've felt that stories written by Osamu Suzuki are always beyond imagination since I appeared in the drama "M -beloved one-" (lol).
So I guess the story of this drama will become more and more unimaginable as it unfolds. I'm really look forward to the continuously advancing plot written by Osamu, which will develop in a totally crazy and unexpected way at the very end!
I will do my best to get into it.


【Genya Hinokuma / Alan Shirahama】
He is a former subordinate of Umino Manatsu. He works in the editorial department of a weekly photo magazine.
He is a straightforward and refreshing young man.
He has always had a crush on Umino and continues to express his feelings straightforwardly, but their romance has not yet come to fruition....
Nevertheless, he stays true to his love and wholeheartedly supports Umino, who has embarked on a new start in life.
How will Umino respond to his overly pure love...!?
