The new song "HB2U feat. Tani Yuuki" featuring Tani Yuuki invited by HONEST BOYZ® has been digitally released on 12/19 (Fri.)!!
EXILE NAOTO posted a dance video using Tani Yuuki's song on his YouTube channel, which started an exchange between the two. Last year, Tani Yuuki appeared as a guest on EXILE NAOTO's solo live show, which laid the ground for this song collaboration.
Inspired by "candles" on indispensable cakes for "birthdays" and "anniversaries", it is a song that embodies elements of both birthday songs and love songs.
The dripping wax oil of the candle is compared to "tear" and the person who cannot become the Mr. Right of his beloved one is compared to a small candle.
Even if I cannot become a cake = "the lead", I am still willing to stay quietly by her side and keep brightening her---Such a sincere and pure feeling is interpreted from the perspective of "keeping in the friend zone".

My acquaintance with Tani Yuuki started with my dance to his song "Myra" on YouTube. And he also appeared as a guest on my solo live tour "NAOTO PRESENTS HONEST HOUSE 2024 'THE FINAL'" which was held last year.
Since then, we have been looking forward to cooperation. Taking HONEST BOYZ®'s album release as an opportunity, we are able to make it come true and jointly create such a great song.
No matter from the music perspective or as a performer, I love Tani Yuuki's R&B world and elegant melody line. Therefore, we infuse such a style into "HB2U feat. Tani Yuuki".
Apart from maintaining HONEST BOYZ®'s unique style, we integrate the bitter feelings for women and birthday memories that everyone has into the song.

After NAOTO posted his dance to Myra on YouTube, he invited me to his live show. I didn't expect we would jointly create a song. From production to recording, each process was filled with new inspirations. I enjoyed them very much.
After multiple discussions with NAOTO and SWAY, we finalized the work to integrate birthday songs and love songs, and hoped to add HONEST BOYZ®'s unique character - sincerity, seriousness but a bit of tenderness and pity, to the song. These discussions brought me a lot of inspiration and helped me create this song.
In short, it is a song about protagonist's friend B, who "is unable to be her Mr. Right and keeps in her friend zone" but wants to brighten her in a selfless way at the cost of his life. Therefore, this song is not from the perspective of the lead cake, but the candle that adorns the cake. Hope you can feel the depth of this song from details.
In the end, please indulge yourself in NAOTO's sweet and gentle singing voice and SWAY's charming low-pitched rap.
